First up, Samsung has kicked off a new service for Galaxy smartphone owners that enables them to upgrade to the latest device after just 12 months, the catch being you have already have to be on a 24-month contract to qualify. According to recent reports the program is already running in Samsung's hometown, South Korea and is also now live in the U.K.

In other news Westpac’s chief executive Brian Hartzer has announced the bank is dedicated to having women compile 50% of leadership positions by next year, with the organisation already having seen a 46% increase since last year. Westpac will be the
first major Australian company to hold an equal gender balance within their leadership sector.

Social media and online community management specialists Qulip, have extended their offerings range with the launch of Quillion, a service that turns data captured by listening tools and social monitoring into actionable insights for their clients.
In an Australian first Xero and Square have joined forces enabling small business owners to be able to take credit card payments with greater ease then ever before. Now small business owners can accept card payments whatever their location which in turn enables more time for business development and growth.

Facebook has acquired Masquerade, a start-up founded last year which overlays filters such as a gorilla face or an Iron Man helmet over your selfie and captures it in video format, in similarity to Snapchat’s latest features.

Target Australia will open its first New Generation store in New South Wales this week following the release of its new collaborative collection with Jean Paul Gaultier on yesterday. The store will all new features including:
- StyleMe Shopper – stylist experts trained to assist customers in the latest trends.
- An instore café
- A Click n Collect service allowing shoppers to pick up their purchased online items in store.
- A unique T-shirt printing station where customers can design their own looks
