Australian Social Media Stats for February 13: Photo sharing is on the up.

February social media visitation data released by Social Media News reports that the majority of networks are steady or down in numbers, with only photo sharing platforms Instagram and Flickr experiencing an increase in numbers. While the most favoured networks for Australians remain Facebook, YouTube and blogging platforms such as blogspot and wordpress, Social Media News’ editor, David Cowling, suggests Facebook’s notable decrease in numbers throughout February is due to further removal of spam accounts. The stats below represent the number of active Australian users where possible, or unique Australian visitors (UAVs) to the site over February.

Social Media Stats – February 2013

  1. Facebook – 11,677,680 Australian users/accounts (down approx 106,780).
  2. YouTube – 11,000,000 UAVs (steady)

  4. Tumblr – 2,800,000 (down 100,000)

In February Instagram announced they have reached 100 million active users. Creative Commons License CC BY-ND 3.0
