Overview
The Briggs Group is a fourth generation family owned company, which has been actively involved in Australian milling and marketing of timber products for over 100 years. Today, the Briggs Group continues to pioneer quality and innovation within the timber industry, offering over 200 different varieties of quality veneer and panelling products.
Briggs contacted OnQue expressing they were seeking a brand and website refresh to digitally showcase their extensive product range and large array of past projects whilst highlighting their innovative and prominent positioning within the veneers industry.
Briggs emphasised that the new and improved website needed to primarily serve as a viewing platform for potential clients: architects, panel layers and builders.
Getting To Know Briggs
The OnQue team were given a tour of the Briggs Veneers Wetherill Park factory, which gave us incredible insight into the creation of Briggs products, the inner workings of the factory and the rich family history of the business.
We were also able to gain insight and understanding into the Briggs’ team and positioning within the timber industry, along with the company’s brand identity, core values and target audiences.
The Revamp
Our team, having seen first-hand the beauty and variety of the veneers at Briggs’ headquarters, were inspired to showcase their products by building a visually rich, image-based web design.
Taking further inspiration from architectural and interior design websites, we took a modern and clean approach to the redesign. We had the challenge of arranging 300 species of veneers into a viewing format that was accessible and easy to navigate.
We sought to compartmentalise the wide range of products into easy access categories, making the user experience as fluid as possible. OnQue’s designers implemented a magnifier on top of the veneer swatches that allows users to view the intricacies of the grain in detail.
We used a minimalist colour palette combined with large project images and a strict grid system to reflect the prominence of the Briggs brand within the veneer industry.
The OnQue team also provided a logo redesign for the brand and its associated companies.
