At OnQue now more than ever we are excited to have the opportunities to explore new ways to use interactive multimedia for our customers.
It was a while back when OnQue predicted the rise of interactive generative art in creative campaigning... Now we have put our words into action with the launch of ‘The Giant Selfie’ an interactive generative art display in Melbourne’s centrally located Samsung Experience Store.
The Challenge
OnQue wanted to represent Samsung in a way that did more than just blend the campaign into the background of the already visually saturated shopping centre.
Innovative marketing initiatives are now elbowing other more dated methods out of the way to gain the attention of the growing public’s advertising awareness. Using a concept that is actually fun and engaging sets us apart from the static images and looped animated content that has only glaring luminosity at its disposal to gain attention of the user.
Solution
The Samsung SES installation tracks people walking past and once their attention is focused on the screen, they can wave their arms to create a painting like effect using the colours of Samsung’s new colour range. Their body is shown silhouetted on the screen with an almost 8bit pixel effect to make the resulting “selfie” that little bit more personal. The photo is then made available in store on the new S6 device to both experience and share to their personal device for social media use.
In the words of Albert Einstein, “Creativity is contagious, pass it on”.
